Abbelwoi Schmidt in Wiesbaden

We can only recommend the goose from the wood oven. Ordered by email 4 days in advance, we got a call 1/2 hour before the pickup. The goose was perfectly cooked, juicy, and to the point. The red cabbage was delicious and the dumplings are ready so quickly. The goose and the red cabbage and dumpling portions were more than enough for 4 people. Next, let's try the deer.

The goose to pick up is awesome (The team from Äbbelwoi Schmidt calls 30 minutes before pick up, so there is hardly any waiting time). You get it in the roaster in a large styrofoam box so that it is perfectly warm when serving. You cook the dumplings quickly at home (come rolled up and ready for the hot water), fill up the hot red cabbage (also super tasty and probably homemade) after carving the goose and have a perfect goose meal in your own living room without closing the whole kitchen devastate and block for hours. The filling and sauce (friends found these a bit thin and quickly thickened them in the pot) are also great.

Was there again at the end of August and somehow disappointed. At first glance, hygiene rules were adhered to with the self-service gate. The food was ok ... the pan schnitzel was by no means homemade and was more like these ready-made schnitzel for the toaster. It was pointed out that the parking lot is currently closed. The rules changed abruptly when a bunch of rockers drove up with their noisy machines. You were greeted happily by the staff and served at the table. One gentleman wore a shirt with the words "Rothschild dynasty smashed" on the back. Nobody seemed to mind that this was an obviously anti-Jewish group. We went home distraught and disappointed ...

Exceptionally exemplary implementation of the Corona rules and you feel welcome at the same time. Good cold drinks - Äppler as well as beer - and delicious small dishes. Recommendation for cozy summer evenings! Wiesbaden has more to offer than some people like to claim again and again.

I have rarely seen a gastronomic establishment with such a friendly atmosphere and such a warm service. Grandiose location - a quiet oasis of well-being, quasi in the middle of the city. The drinks are great and the food is absolutely okay for a classic beer garden. There is a huge plus for the implementation of the Corona measures. I have never seen them implemented so consistently, but integrated so skillfully into the processes that the restrictions are not perceived as such. If everyone did this, the virus would be much easier to get rid of. All in all an absolute recommendation for going out, we will definitely be happy to come back!

hi Guys I specially registered here to leave a review. We have been with Bernd and his team for years. Right now in Corona times you have to emphasize how well this somewhat hidden pearl has implemented all guidelines. Toilets single use the distances are kept (thanks to the size of the garden and the lack of parking spaces really well solved) We personally prefer to pick it up ourselves rather than ignite it with a mask, so that would also be done very well. To the comments that the owner is unfriendly, I can not say in any way he is only very committed to his employees and customers, so if someone is moaning, he is certainly not the one who ignores this but also sometimes speaks his mind :) Keep up the good work and make this implementation our first evaluation Apart from that, very dog-friendly eatery and in non-Corona times also a separate playground for the little ones VG Nubo & Co

Praise for their concept now in these corona times! In the beer garden, everything is taken care of, from picking up drinks yourself to individuals in the toilets. The number of visitors is also checked and limited if necessary. Everything perfect!

Super cool location - summer and winter! We love to sit outside in summer, out of the city, with apples and hand cheeses and even more to enjoy concerts sometimes. Then goose and mulled wine in winter. What more do you want ?

We were the first time to eat goose today. Great ambience, very good food. We received a warm welcome and even our dog Max was welcome I'm looking forward to the next visit

One of the best beer gardens in town, if not the best. The private label of beer tastes fantastic too. The food is regional and the sausage is delicious. Was not guaranteed the last time.

Cool place to drink with typical German food/snacks.Not a massive selection of beers but lovely spot and v popular.
